ASPA

Australian Secondary Principals’ Association (ASPA)

ASPA represents and supports over 4500 Principals, Deputy Principals and Heads of Departments (HOD's) in Australian schools with a secondary component e.g. Years 7-12, Prep- 12 or Prep-10. ASPA is the peak body for a network of strong state and territory-based affiliates, each of which provides a wide range of professional support services.

On behalf of secondary Principals, Deputy Principals and HOD's, ASPA works on the National agenda to ensure that quality learning environments and the well-being of school leadership teams are key objectives.

ASPA is non-partisan and provides an informed voice for our profession in the political arena. On behalf of its members, ASPA works hard to lobby Federal and State Governments,  Departments of Education (DoE) and statutory bodies to resource Government secondary schools appropriately and to ensure that the principles of equity and social justice are incorporated in policy settings for public schools.  ASPA’s Principal, Deputy Principal and HOD members lead and manage highly autonomous, complex, world class schools, and deserve the best possible policy conditions in which to perform this work.

A fundamental belief of ASPA is that Australian public secondary schools exist to provide the best possible education for all young people in their care. ASPA is affiliated with the International Confederation of Principals (ICP). ASPA is incorporated as Australian Secondary Principals Association Inc. (1A19751)
